GSTR 9 and GSTR 9C Due Date Extended for FY 2018-19:
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Custom (CBIC) has extended the due date for furnishing the GST Annual Return and GST Audit due dates for financial year 2018-19. The last date to file the returns was September 30, 2020. GSTR 9 Due date extension comes as a sigh of relief for all the taxpayers.
The representations were already made by ICAI and KSCAA. The move comes after scores of taxpayers took to social media to inform the department that it was impossible to complete the compliance due to Covid-19 as almost all offices were closed. Further, people working from home were engaged in monthly GST compliances.
CBIC has now twitted to inform that due date is extended to 31st October, 2020.
